The 2004 Dubai World Cup shaped up to be a duel between the top two dirt horses in America. Pleasantly Perfect defeated Medaglia D’Oro by an extended length in the 2003 Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). Both horses won respective prep races in advance of the Dubai World Cup, setting up a repeat engagement in the UAE. The fans were not disappointed.
