Mike De Kock reported Wednesday that Christophe Soumillon was retained by his top owner, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, for the 2010 Dubai International Racing Carnival, filling a void left by Johnny Murtagh. Soumillon was previously engaged as the main rider for H H The Aga Khan and shared top scores with Dalakhani and the wonder-filly Zarkava. Soumillon won the 2002 Dubai Duty Free (G1) with Eric Libaud-trainee Terre A Terre. According to DeKock’s website, the 29-year-old Soumillon would share the stable’s mounts with long-time DeKock jockey Kevin Shea.
