After a grueling, but successful double-meet of racing at Meydan last week, leading jockey Frankie Dettori flew into Milan and drove up to St. Moritz, Switzerland for the races over the “white turf,” really, a frozen, snow-covered lake, and managed a win.

A winner at the 2009 Dubai International Racing Carnival, Godolphin’s Kirklees was only seventh in the Caulfield Cup but suffered a wide ride from Kerrin McEvoy. Now, Frankie Dettori will be on board for next Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.
